SCBWI AZ Get-Togethers are a benefit of membership. Please remember to
bring your membership card with you. Nonmembers may attend one
Get-Together but nonmembers must become a member to attend regularly.

The Black Rose Caffe is located on Stone Avenue, between Grant and
Speedway on the east side of the road, directly across from the Wildcat
House and next to the Bum Steer restaurant. The caffe is in the
northwest corner of a three story apartment building, closest to the Bum
Steer.

Please see
the following map
that shows the location circled in red.

Additional parking for the caffe is available in the side street on the
south(opposite) side of the building. If you are traveling from I-10,
please remember that, to access Grant or Speedway, you must exit the
highwayat either Prince Road from the north or 29th Street from the
south. You must then take the frontage road until you reach Grant or
Speedway.

Topic: Troubleshooting What Ails Your Work and Setting Goals to Fix Them In the New Year

The Martha Cooper Branch Library is located two blocks
north of Speedway Blvd, just east of Columbus Blvd.

Catalina Ave. can be accessed from Speedway, or by
taking E. Bellevue St. from Alvernon or Swan to go north
on Catalina. The library is at the SW corner of
Fairmont and Catalina.

The meeting room is located just outside of the main
entrance, across the walkway. Old and new members are
encouraged to attend.

It's a Pizza Party!

What: Pizza party at my house.
When: On Friday, May 16th starting at four...although pizza may not be ready until five. Going until the last person leaves.
Why: This is the night before the SCBWI-AZ conference and we have friends coming up from Tucson and I thought it might be nice to get together that evening.

SCBWI Arizona Editor's Day

SCBWI Arizona is hosting Editor’s Day on May 17th in Scottsdale. Details here. I've already sent in my registration and booked my hotel room.

Writing for children class in Tucson

Marge Pellegrino is teaching Writing for Children at Pima's East Campus. She's an excellent instructor--I'd highly recommend her course to anyone looking for a class on writing for children!
